Phil Chen, President of Sybarite and Founding member of Compass Mid Peninsula, was also formerly a Founding Partner at KW Peninsula Estates and San Francisco. Phil buys and sells homes in some of Northern California’s most sought-after neighborhoods, and he does it with great success. Phil didn’t choose real estate as his first career. He built and developed a successful career in the fitness business before finding his true calling. Phil owned private personal training studios in the San Francisco Financial District, which catered to Fortune 500 CEO’s, bankers, brokers, lawyers and other affluent clientele. Although it may seem like quite a leap between his two careers, Phil quickly found that they are quite closely connected. “My clients became my investors and business partners, buying investment properties and commercial developments,” he says. He obtained his broker’s license, and in 2006, sold his gyms and entered the real estate field full time. He opened Sybarite without ever working for a larger brokerage, using the knowledge he accrued largely on his own through his family’s investments, observation, intuition and experience.

After earning a Master’s Degree in Marketing and a Bachelor’s Degree in both Marketing and Psychology, Margie Swain dove right in to the real estate industry. She began her real estate career in commercial real estate and asset management in San Francisco for 3 years before breaking into residential real estate. After making the switch, she went on to work with Ken DeLeon as the #1 Real Estate Agent in the Country per WSJ. She continued to work with top real estate teams in Menlo Park and Los Altos before becoming an joining Pacific Union as an independent agent.  Margie is able to utilize her experience as an agent combined with her marketing degree to provide insight into the current market trends and demographic analysis to our clients.
